Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta feels that Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso is completely wrong in his financial accusations.

Speaking to reporters, via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri President made clear that his club are in compliance with the financial rules of the FIGC and UEFA.

Recently, Fiorentina owner Commisso made insinuations regarding Inter’s finances.

The Viola owner suggested that he doesn’t understand how the Nerazzurri can register despite the debt situation at the top of the club.

These kinds of attacks on Inter have not exactly been uncommon within Italian football.

Previous Inter owners Suning had significant financial struggles. This was particularly the case after the start of the pandemic, which hit both the Nerazzurri and Suning hard financially.

In May, US fund Oaktree Capital took over Inter.

This was the result of Suning defaulting on a massive loan they’d taken on from the fund in 2021.

The terms of the loan were that if the previous owners did not pay what they owed, control of the club would pass into the hands of Oaktree.

Marotta Hits Back At Commisso: “Inter Meet All FIGC & UEFA Criteria”

As far as Commisso’s insinuations, Marotta said “Do I want to respond? No.”

“I have a lot of respect for Commisso,” the Inter President continued.

“But Inter meets all its obligations and all the financial criteria that the FIGC and UEFA require of it.”

Meanwhile, Marotta also gave his thoughts on the dynamics at the top end of the Serie A table.

“The group of teams that have a real chance of winning has been the same for years,” he said.

“And then I’d add Atalanta to the mix, with authority,” Marotta went on. “They deserve recognition for what they’ve done and the position they’ve gotten for themselves over the last few years.”

“It’s always among these teams that the winner of the Scudetto comes about,” the Inter President said.
