Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has revealed that he is due to undergo a scan on an injury he picked up whilst on international duty with Turkiye.
As reported by Fanatik, and via FCInterNews.it, Calhanoglu spoke after Turkiye’s 1-1 draw with Wales in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday evening, after being withdrawn at half time.
“I wasn’t ready yet. The same spot where I had felt the discomfort started to hurt again,” Calhanoglu said in a post-match interview, in reference to a previous injury he had sustained.
“So I didn’t take any risks, it started to sting. Tomorrow we’ll have an MRI scan.”
Calhanoglu’s injury will be of concern to Inter and Simone Inzaghi ahead of a crucial run-in in both Serie A and the Champions League, with the former AC Milan midfielder a key part of the coach’s plans.
Indeed, the 30-year-old has already featured 12 times this season and provided four goals from midfield, and so the Nerazzurri will be keen to receive positive news regarding his fitness.
Former Bayer Leverkusen man Calhanoglu joined Inter as a free agent from Milan in 2021 and helped the Biscione win the Serie A title last season.
