Inter Milan have identified Genoa’s Koni De Winter and Valencia’s Cristhian Mosquera as their main backup targets to Giovanni Leoni in defense.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan will certainly make a signing in defense this summer.

The likes of Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij certainly aren’t getting any younger. Therefore, it is necessary for the Nerazzurri to rejuvenate their backline.

Therefore, Inter must dip into the market to make a signing to bolster their back three options.

Parma defender Giovanni Leoni has emerged as Inter’s target. This is particularly the case after Cristian Chivu became the club’s new coach.

However, there are a couple other names on Inter’s list.

According to Tuttosport, Genoa defender Koni De Winter is a major target for Inter in defense.

The Belgian has been on the Nerazzurri’s radar for some time now. They have reportedly already made contact with Genoa for the former Juventus defender.

Then, reports Tuttosport, Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera has also emerged as one of Inter’s main targets in defense.

The 20-year-old would certainly fit into the youth-focused project at the Nerazzurri under Chivu.
