Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez and Lazio skipper Mattia Zaccagni are in contrasting form ahead of today’s Serie A clash.
This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter take on Lazio in Serie A this evening.
And it could be one of the most important matches of both teams’ seasons.
Inter and Lazio are level on points going into the match. The Nerazzurri do, however, have a game in hand on the Biancocelesti.
It is a match, therefore, that could have Serie A title ramifications. Not just for the two teams on the pitch, but also for Atalanta, Napoli, Fiorentina, and Juventus,
Both Inter and Lazio will be relying on their captains to inspire them this evening.
And in terms of leadership, both Martinez and Zaccagni will certainly be able to handle the match.
But as far as attacking contributions, there are very different stories.
Lazio captain Zaccagni has responded to inheriting the armband from Ciro Immobile last summer by taking a decisive step up.
The Italian international has scored six goals and made four assists so far this campaign.
Like Zaccagni, Martinez had a blazing goalscoring season in his first season as captain. However, this time around he has just five goals in Serie A to date.
