Deemed surplus to requirements by Simone Inzaghi, Inter Milan castaway Martin Satriano is on his way to joining Ligue 1 outfit Lens on loan.

According to Spanish outlet Relevo, as reported by Calciomercato, the French club will have an option to buy the 23-year-old at the end of next summer.

If Satriano lives up to expectations at Stade Bollaert-Delelis, Lens will need to splash out €6 million to secure his permanent transfer at the end of the 2024/25 season.

However, the option will become mandatory if the Uruguayan forward meets specific conditions.

Heavily linked with a return to Ligue 1, where he spent last season on loan at Brest, Satriano has been the subject of intense speculation.

Brest tried to lure him back to the Stade Francis-Le Ble last week.

Despite helping the club reach the Champions League group stages, the ex-Nacional Montevideo starlet turned down the move.

Soon after Brest’s approach came a cropper, Olympique Marseille emerged as a potential landing spot for Satriano.

In the end, Lens will capture the center-forward’s signature.

Inter were reluctant to let Satriano leave on loan at first.

That’s especially after receiving a tangible proposal from Brest. But they’ve had a change of heart.

Inzaghi’s overwhelming desire to trim down his bloated attacking options has prevailed.

Satriano has never had a proper chance to showcase his skills at Giuseppe Meazza.

He found his feet at Brest last season, reinforcing Inter’s hopes of cashing in on his exit this summer.

But it wasn’t plain sailing.

Eventually, Inter will offload the Montevideo native.

They can now focus on finding a suitor for Joaquin Correa. The Argentine is another player written off by Inzaghi.
