Inter Milan are ready to move on to a deal for Parma defender Giovanni Leoni after wrapping up the signing of Ange-Yoan Bonny.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan’s interest in Parma defender Giovanni Leoni is well-known at this point.
The Nerazzurri had reportedly already tried to sign the teenage defender last summer. However, Parma beat them to the punch.
But after a very convincing campaign at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, Inter’s interest in Leoni has only grown stronger.
Particularly after the appointment of Cristian Chivu as coach. The 44-year-old had really gotten the best out of Leoni at Parma.
Therefore, Inter want to beat the competition and snap up Leoni this summer. Above all, the Nerazzurri are fighting with city rivals AC Milan for the 19-year-old’s signature.

The Gazzetta dello Sport report that Inter Milan are immediately turning their attention to Leoni.
The Nerazzurri have already completed a deal for one Parma player. Striker Ange-Yoan Bonny will reportedly undergo his medicals tomorrow and then join from the Emilian club.
However, Inter are not going to stop there, reports the Gazzetta.
The Milan-based newspaper anticipate that now Inter are going to ramp up their efforts to sign Leoni.
That will come with a big cost. Parma want €30 million for the teenage defender considering his growth last season.
However, Inter are ready to invest in a deal for Leoni – even after already signing Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, and Bonny, according to the Gazzetta.
The Milan-based newspaper note that the sales will come later. For example, Hakan Calhanoglu remains strongly linked with Galatasaray, whilst there’s Premier League interest in Yann Bisseck.
However, for now Inter’s priority is to keep moving in what has already been a fairly ambitious window. They will try to move forward for Leoni.
Furthermore, the Gazzetta dello Sport anticipate, Inter could offer to leave Giovanni Leoni on loan at Parma for another season.
