Inter Milan believe that another run to the Champions League final is possible after a near-perfect start to the season in Europe.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Two seasons ago, Inter reached the final of the Champions League.
The Nerazzurri reestablished themselves as a force in Europe with a knockout run that saw them overcome Porto, Benfica, and city rivals AC Milan.
Inter then lost only narrowly to Manchester City in the final.
That raised expectations for last season.
But it was a disappointing campaign for Inter in the Champions League after their squandered an advantage against Atletico Madrid in the round of sixteen.
This time around, Inter have fully embraced the tag of being among the favourites for the Champions League.
The Nerazzurri have taken thirteen points from five matches in the “league phase” of the revamped competition.
Inter drew away to Manchester City in their opener. Wins over Red Star Belgrade, Young Boys, Arsenal, and RB Leipzig followed.
Inter have also yet to concede a goal in Europe this season.
All this leaves the Nerazzurri behind only Liverpool in the table. The Merseyside giants have won all five of their matches in the competition so far.
And with this, Inter are fully confident that they can reach another final. And maybe go one better than in 2023.
