Despite the chatter and the manifest interest, Inter and Galatasaray aren’t actively bargaining for Hakan Calhanoglu at the moment. The Turkish team has other big deals on its plate, as they are also trying to retain Victor Osimhen, Corriere dello Sport informs.
The center-forward has enjoyed his time in Turkey, and the proposed salary, €16M, is satisfactory, while not as rich as Al-Hilal’s. Their bid, €50, falls short of his release clause, though.
Galatasaray will probably engage with Inter for Calhanoglu after sorting out the Osimhen situation, one way or the other. The Nerazzurri aren’t necessarily opposing his exit, but the fee will have to be proper. The signals about that aren’t too optimistic, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
The Turk spoke with Lautaro Martinez, but the two haven’t mended fences. The Serie A runner-ups have a clear number target should their mainstay leave: Ederson. They could tender up to €50M. They could get there by selling Kristjan Asllani and Aleksandar Stankovic as well. Davide Frattesi isn’t expendable.
In addition to the Bergamaschi star, Palmeiras’ star Richard Rios and Benfica’s Orkun Kocku are on the Nerazzurri’s radar, Calciomercato and Abola report (via Goal). The former has a €30M price tag, while the former is worth about €40M.
He seems more out than in, but there’s also a chance he’ll do a public 180 because there aren’t the premises for his transfer to go through, like he did last summer when he was close to Bayern Munich. If he exited, Giuseppe Marotta and co. will most likely go for a sure thing, especially at those numbers. Splurging that much on Ederson would further signify that they are in a new era economically.
