Enzo Fernandez might not have scored against Leciester on Sunday, but journalist Rahman Osman revealed what he did that showed real leadership.
The Blues made it back to back league wins as they ground out a hard fought 1-0 victory against the Foxes, with Marc Cucurella scoring the only goal of the game.
It was a massive three points for the Blues who moved back into the top four, with ten games of the campaign remaining.
The result was more convincing than the scoreline suggested, although it could have been more comfortable had Cole Palmer not missed a first half penalty.
The 22-year-old is going through a difficult run of form currently, and Maresca revealed after the game Palmer hadn’t trained for 48 hours as he’d been ill, but he still wanted to play.
Graeme Souness warned people criticising Palmer to back off, and his team-mates certainly still believe in his ability.

Chelsea have often been accused of lacking leadership on and off the pitch, but Osman revealed what Fernandez did that showed real leadership after Palmer missed from the spot.
Osman reported in FourFourTwo that when Palmer missed his penalty, Fernandez was the first player to go over and offer him some words of encouragement.
He also adds the World Cup winner went up to the England international as he was preparing to take the subsequent corner to try and lift his spirits and offer support.

Fernandez has certainly grown into a leadership role this season, and he’s captained the side on a number of occasions in the absence of Reece James.
The Argentine is arguably having his best season since joining the Blues in January 2023, and being fully fit and free of the hernia issue which caused him problems last season is making a massive difference, whilst he will have a key role to play in the run in if Chelsea are to qualify for the Champions League.
