The next Manchester United offer for Bryan Mbeumo will reportedly be the club’s last on this particular front.

The Red Devils have long agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old star, but they have yet to find an accord with Brentford who have already turned down their original bid. United put £45m plus £10m on the table, but the Bees deemed it too low.

But while this development ensued a couple of weeks ago, the negotiations have seemingly stalled since, with MUFC failing to find a breakthrough, even though they’re considered the ultimate favourites in the race for Mbeumo.

In his latest update on Centre Devils, Man Utd insider, Sully, reveals why INEOS have yet to finalise this operation and move to other targets.

Why Man United have yet to sign Bryan Mbeumo

The source insists that, despite the delay, the two clubs remain in constant contact and that United are optimistic about reaching the finish line.

Nevertheless, Sully reiterates that reports claiming that the two parties have reached an agreement are far from precise, as the gap between the asking price and the proposed fee remains significant.

While Brentford believe that Mbeumo is worthy of a similar transfer fee to the one United paid for Matheus Cunha (£62.5 million), Man Utd feel that this figure is excessive, especially with the player’s contract expiring next season, albeit it includes an option for another year.

Man Utd prepare one last bid for Mbeumo

Moreover, Sully reveals that Man United are taking their time before launching their second bid, as it is expected to be their last. Hence, the Reds are carefully studying the situation to maximise the chances of receiving Brentford’s approval.

Therefore, the coming days could prove decisive on this front, as either Man Utd succeed in luring the 25-year-old Premier League star to Carrington, or they will turn their attention to alternative profiles.

Mbeumo is coming off an exceptional season that saw him score 20 goals in the Premier League, which explains why United are desperate to sign him. His former manager, Thomas Frank, hailed him as a ‘fantastic’ player.
