Sadly for star Leicester City defender Ricardo Pereira, he has suffered an injury setback. Foxes manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has, however, provided some optimistic information on the issue.
Recently, Leicester City supporters had a modicum of good news during a season which is generally all bad. It's been a hard watch for the Foxes' Blue Army fan base this term - that's for sure! The positive update, which stirred a slight amount of optimism amongst the support, was swiftly reversed in predictable fashion. Initially, the imminent return of star defender Ricardo Pereira buoyed the faithful somewhat.
The Portuguese is a bit of a fan favourite on Filbert Way. And his comeback was desired for a few reasons to be honest. First of all, Ricardo might eventually take the place of one of the east Midlands outfit's thoroughly underwhelming existing full backs. Victor Kristiansen, on the left, should be removed from the starting lineup as soon as possible as I see it. Although the Dane kind of improved as a wing back.
Next up, and the prime target of spectators' frustrations, James Justin. The majority of City observers want the England international (I know, right?!) out of the side. Which is a more than fair appraisal of Justin's unfortunate campaign. Ricardo could replace either man as I see it. If Kristiansen goes, Justin switches to the left. Or the Portugal National Team representative merely and directly comes in for JJ.
However, I might be getting ahead of myself here. That's because Ricardo has suffered an injury setback. Luckily Foxes manager Ruud van Nistelrooy's staff analysed the issue immediately. The boss didn't give too much away, as is typical in these situations. Although the Dutchman did provide one important detail ahead of LCFC's upcoming clash with Manchester City. So, what did van Nistelrooy say of the 31-year-old exactly?
"Ricardo made his comeback from a four-month absence during City’s defeat to Chelsea earlier this month, but was then missing for the loss to Manchester United. Ruud van Nistelrooy said he had a 'minor muscle injury' and that he could 'maybe' return for the trip to Man City next Wednesday."Leicestershire Live
