Injury blows for two Leicester stars as Cooper worries over legend

A pair of Leicester City starters and senior internationals have unfortunately suffered respective injury problems. Strangely enough, the two separate issues are said to have occurred whilst the duo were away from King Power Stadium with the same national team. So, how bad are their fitness matters supposed to be? Will either face short or prolonged periods on the sideline? And which Foxes would potentially replace either player in the LCFC starting lineup if necessary? Here is what we know.

In addition to looking at that story, we have yet more Steve Cooper troubles to discuss sadly. It is claimed the former Nottingham Forest manager has a non-Leicester team-related concern on his mind at the moment. In fact, Cooper is apparently worried about a certain Manchester United legend. So, why would an ex-Red Devils man be causing anxiety for the Welshman? And does he have a genuine reason to be apprehensive? All is revealed forthwith.

Ruud van Nilstelrooy worries Steve Cooper

LCFC boss Cooper is now reportedly 'looking over his shoulder' because of van Nilstelrooy’s Man United exit. That may seem a stretch but I for one can understand the former's position and reasoning.

Basically, while he hasn't done too well in the job so far, Cooper is definitely wise and experienced enough to know that possibly means for a Premier League gaffer. Nor has he won over enough of the City support, or seemingly the east Midlanders' hierarchy to feel safe.

Therefore the 44-year-old will obviously see kind of qualified people such as the aforementioned Dutchman as a threat to his Leicester role. If you ask Foxes of Leicester, I would suspect that five or more candidates are more likely to take over than Van Nistelrooy.

Ruben Amorim's installation as MUFC head coach certainly led to the retired striker effectively being out of work. Though speculation linking Van Nistelrooy with the City hot seat appears to be unsubstantiated at present.

Leicester City may have been dealt dual injury setback with Ghanaians affected

Jordan Ayew is rapidly winning over sections of the LCFC faithful with his commitment and handful of goals. And that productivity has pleasantly surprised Blue Army members such as myself.

Meanwhile Abdul Fatawu's star should steadily rise in the English top-flight and beyond. He would like further minutes under Cooper. Although we can all see the potentially exceptional ability developing. Cover does exist in the squad, thankfully, because difficulties might be ahead:

"Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu appear to have picked up injuries while on duty for Ghana. Both have left the international camp and are due to return to the UK today for treatment.Ayew scored a spectacular opener for his country in Friday’s 1-1 draw with Angola and completed the full 90 minutes. However, scans after the game revealed a “significant” knee problem.Fatawu was also included in the starting XI but was forced off in the first half. The nature of his injury has not been revealed.A statement from the Ghana Football Association said the Foxes duo had been “ruled out” of Monday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Niger due to their injuries. Both were said to have “sustained injuries” during the game against Angola."
