After reports surfaced about the concerns raised by residents near Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu regarding the impact of hosting numerous events, Real Madrid now confront an additional challenge in allowing their stadium to hold these events.

Real Madrid fan Javier Caireta-Serra shared on social media today a video showcasing the hallowed turf looking in poor condition after a concert was held at the venue on Sunday evening.

This news comes as only hours remain before Real Madrid take to the pitch to face Deportivo Alavés in La Liga.

With only two matches remaining to be played in the Bernabéu this season, Real Madrid won’t be too concerned with the state of the pitch as they will have the entire summer to get it back to peak condition.

However, the pitch reaching this state raises questions about whether heavy use of the stadium for concerts going forward will have any effect on the pitch in the long term.
