Pep Guardiola has questioned whether he is good enough after overseeing yet another Manchester City defeat, this time to rivals Manchester United.
City conceded twice in the final few minutes to give Ruben Amorim a morale-boosting win in his first Manchester derby.
A dejected Guardiola turned away in disgust at full time and the City boss conceded afterwards that he is “not doing well”.
“I am the boss. I am manager. I have to find a solution. I am not good enough,” he explained.
“It is simple at that. I am not doing well, that is the truth.
“I knew it would be a tough season at the beginning, but I didn’t think it would be this hard.”
The defeat was City’s eighth in their last 11 games with all hopes of a historic fifth title on the bounce all but over before Christmas.
“No defence, they [Man United] were incredibly persistent,”
“We’ve not lost eight games in two seasons. We can’t defend that.
“It’s not about this or that player. We gave away goals, our fault. We don’t play with composure. The results are not good, the game was not exceptional.”
