Legendary English striker Alan Shearer envisions another defeat for Manchester United ahead of their contest against Fulham.

The Red Devils are coming off a morale-boosting victory over Rangers in the Europa League. Nevertheless, their Premier League status remains miserable, to say the least.

Ruben Amorim’s men suffered a defeat last Sunday at the hands of Brighton, so they’ll be keen to pick up some points at Craven Cottage, as they wouldn’t want to dwell in an embarrassing 14th spot for too long.

Nevertheless, Fulham won’t be an easy adversary for the Reds. After all, the Cottagers will start the contest in 10th place, with seven more points their their visitors.

For his part, Shearer is backing the Cottagers to prevail in front of their home supporters on Sunday night, even though Man Utd tend to perform slightly better away from home.

“I’m not convinced with Man United, I know they’ve won in the week, and they might be slightly better away from home… but I’m going to go for a Fulham win,” he said via Manchester Evening News.

“We know the way Fulham play. United are better when they can sit and hit you on the counterattack. They may be able to do that more away from home, than they can at Old Trafford, because of who and what they are they have to attack there.

“I think Marco Silva has got his team in a good position this season and the belief that they’ll have… he’ll have them tuned in and they’ll have too much for Man United.”

Therefore, it remains to be seen how Amorim’s men will fare against the West Londoners. The Portuguese tactician has opted for an attacking approach, starting with Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho behind Rasmus Hojlund, with Bruno Fernandes dropped to a deeper role in midfield.

Manchester United XI (3-4-2-1): Onana; De Ligt, Maguire, Martinez; Mazraoui, Ugarte, Fernandes, Dalot; Amad, Garnacho; Hojlund.
