RedBird advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic talked alongside Sergio Conceiçao on Tuesday, addressing the way Milan fumbled the sacking of Paulo Fonseca timing-wise and motivating the decision to opt for a coaching change (via SOSFanta).

“I wish to thank him for what he did and his professionalism. We have a great deal of respect for him. He didn’t manage to have the required continuity in terms of results, which are key here. The decision was made after the Roma game. Our mistake was to send him in front of the press anyway. We apologize for that.”

Ibrahimovic detailed why they chose Conceiçao.

“He’s a direct person, he brings character, and he’s a winner. He has experience in taking over mid-season and has done well in those situations. We have to put him in the best possible condition. He has clear ideas and wanted to see the squad on the pitch right away after joining.”

Ibrahimovic addressed the malcontent of the fans.

“I understand them, and we are the first to be unsatisfied. We won’t be happy until we reach our goals. The Supercoppa is among those. The responsibility doesn’t lie just on the coach but has to be shared. A club like Milan have to be prepared for the next step. We never took decisions out of panic.”

The Rossoneri will have almost a full squad in Saudi Arabia, including Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, and Yunus Musah, who recently missed time due to injury. The only ones who stayed in Italy were Samuel Chukwueze, who has been diagnosed with a biceps femoris strain in his left thigh, and Noah Okafor who’s nursing a calf lesion, Tuttomercatoweb informed.
