“I would never…” Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal clarifies stance on playing for Real Madrid | OneFootball

As part of the Spain setup at Euro 2024, Lamine Yamal has announced himself on the world stage with his performances for La Roja at the young age of 16.

With the level of attention the teenager is getting, it is natural that talk may turn to rumours of a transfer, with some even suggesting the possibility of moving to rivals Real Madrid.

When speaking to Spanish sports gossip show El Chiringuito, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo, Yamal clarified his stance on whether he would ever lace up his boots for Los Blancos.

Yamal was asked on a scale of one to ten, how big of a culé he considers himself, to which he confidently replied “A ten.”

He then clarified that he would never consider playing for Real Madrid on account of how big of a Barcelona fan he is.

Growing up in the wider Barcelona metropolitan area, Yamal has been at the club since he was just six years old, making his ties to the Catalan side run deep.

With his key role for both Barcelona last season – with 50 appearances, and the Spain national team, it doesn’t seem like the 16-year-old is going anywhere soon.
