Jurgen Klopp has nothing but respect for Pep Guardiola as one of the Premier League's most intense managerial rivalries officially comes to an end.

After eight-and-a-half years as Reds boss, the German bids farewell after Sunday's clash at home to Wolves in the knowledge he's the only manager to have briefly interrupted City's seven-year dominance in English football's top-flight.

And barring a surprise result at the Etihad Stadium, it's looking increasingly likely that Guardiola will lead his City side to victory over West Ham United thus clinching a record-breaking fourth successive Premier League title.

Having said that, the seemingly imminent latest title success has been conducted against the backdrop of Manchester City’s 115 charges for alleged financial wrongdoing from the period covering 2009 to 2018.

Interestingly, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has said City’s status as the best team in the division is an ‘embarrassment’ to the Premier League while the shadow of suspicion looms over the club and describes their success during the aforementioned period as a ‘public relations disaster'.

And now Klopp has broken his silence on the matter, insisting that whilst he believes Guardiola is the best manager in the world he is keen to see if City are found guilty - even though it won't be his problem when a verdict is finally delivered.

"Everybody knows about the 115 charges, but I have no clue what that means," Klopp admitted, as per the Express. "I only know the number. No matter what has transpired at Manchester City, Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the world - and that is truly significant.

"If you put any other manager in that club, they don't win the league four times in a row. That's down to him and his team. Does that mean they can do whatever they want? No. But I don't know what they did - if they did anything - and I'm not here to say they have.

"We will see. Of course, I would like to know (if City are guilty) one day. Everyone wants to know. But I will be somewhere else. The quality of Pep makes the difference so I don't worry about these things.

"We will see. It's not my problem and I am fine with what we have and what we've achieved."
