‘I know what’s on the other side’ – Postecoglou remains optimistic of good times at Spurs | OneFootball

Ange Postecoglou says his determination to see Tottenham through their rough patch has not waivered as he prepares to take the club to Southampton for the first time since Antonio Conte’s rant almost two years ago.

Postecoglou takes his Spurs side to St Mary’s under similar pressure to Conte was back in March 2023, when Tottenham threw away a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 with the Saints.

Conte was sacked following the result and a post-match rant which saw him label his players “selfish” and criticise the ownership for having not won anything “in 20 years”.

Postecoglou, however, insists he is not going anywhere and believes there is glory to come if Spurs can get through their difficult run, with his side currently 11th in the Premier League table.

“Antonio is a world class manager and he’s got his own way of doing things and his own reasons for doing them,” Postecoglou said when asked about Conte’s comments the last time Spurs visited Southampton.

“I’m here, I’m in for the fight, we’re in a fight that’s for sure, for better or worse I’m not going anywhere at the moment because everything is still in my power and my responsibility.

“I still have a real desire to get us through this stage so that people see what’s on the other side.
