A major development had been expected for weeks when it came to FC Barcelona and their pursuit of a new winger. However, work had been so slow this summer that doubts had begun to creep in. Fortunately, it seems that Barcelona have finally decided to make their move.
Recently, reliable reports began to confirm that the Catalan club was willing to wait no longer to sign a winger. Instead, Barcelona decided to take the matter into their own hands and make a big move that would help finally arrange such an arrival.

Specifically, Barcelona sent in an official bid to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United this summer. Despite not being the club’s priority target this summer, he seems to have been the most feasible option and that is what Barça have decided to go with.
Now, however, it seems to be done and dusted in terms of the agreement between Barcelona and Manchester United. The ‘here we go’ has already arrived from Fabrizio Romano now, with verbal agreement reached between all involved parties as Barcelona look set to sign Rashford this summer.
The deal involves a loan operation that has an option to buy the player attached to it. A great deal from a financial perspective for the Catalan giants, it is one that comes with little risks considering that it is still just a loan deal and that La Blaugrana would not be obligated to buy the player by the end of the season.
Now, Barcelona are reportedly planning for the player’s medical tests in the upcoming days. With the deal now being finalised, Romano has confirmed that Manchester United will then authorise his travel to Spain so that he can join up with Barcelona.
As for Luis Diaz, that operation now seems to be sidelined most likely. The latest report on that front was that the club would not overextend themselves to sign the player this summer, and it seems now that Rashford’s more feasible operation won them over.
