Guillamón challenges participants in III VCF Academy World Cup to imitate his goal against FC Barcelona | OneFootball

Hugo Guillamón's goal against FC Barcelona earlier this season is one of his most fondly remembered moments in a Valencia CF shirt. The VCF Academy product scored the equaliser in the LaLiga fixture to earn his team a 1-1 draw, as he controlled a ball left for him by Diego López, dribbled and found the perfect angle to strike into the top corner.

It's a goal worth repeating and also one worth replicating.

Guillamón is the ambassador of June's III VCF Academy World Cup, a Under-12s tournament for teams from America, Asia and Europe at the Ciudad Deportiva. He has invited the young players participating in this competition to imitate his famous goal and share it on social media, tagging the accounts of the VCF Academy.

The player who most faithfully reproduces the goal against FC Barcelona will receive a ball signed by the Valencia CF midfielder.

Valencia CF will celebrate the III edition of the VCF Academy World Cup from June 27th to 30th, 2024. For the third consecutive year, the Valencia CF Academy will host U12 teams and players from different parts of America, Asia and Europe who will turn the Ciutat Esportiva del Valencia CF into a celebration of soccer and cultural diversity.

After the success of the past two editions, this III VCF Academy World Cup aims to consolidate its place in the calendar as an unmissable event for soccer lovers -and especially Valencia CF lovers- from all corners of the planet.

The teams of the VCF Academies that Valencia CF has in different strategic markets in America, Asia and Europe, as well as other teams from different countries, will share unforgettable days of competition, soccer and fun, as well as a full training program at the Ciutat Esportiva del Valencia CF -for those who take the previous Training Experience- and recreational activities for children and families to learn more about Valencia, one of the best cities in the world to live in.

THE LATEST CHAMPIONS

The teams will seek to become champions and beat Polisportiva Bruinese of Italy and FK Zalgiris Kaunas of Lithuania, who won in 2023 and 2022 respectively, in a VCF Academy World Cup that brought together more than 150 players from Japan, Italy, Canada, Greece, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Belgium and different parts of the USA such as Houston, New York and Seattle.

THE 4TH BEST ACADEMY IN EUROPE

Participants will also have the opportunity to enjoy a multicultural experience, living together, sharing their vision of the world and their passion for soccer in the facilities of the Ciutat Esportiva of Valencia CF, home of the VCF Academy, the fourth best in Europe in the training of players to compete at the elite level according to the latest report of the CIES Football Observatory.
