A former Arsenal goalscoring legend’s great grandson, Liam Harding, has published a book about football.
Liam Harding, whose great grandfather Ted Drake is Arsenal’s fifth all-time top goalscorer with 139 goals, has released Basingstoke Town FC, The Team For Me!
Despite the title, the publication goes into detail about watching Arsenal and what it means to Liam, in relation to the man who holds the record for the most goals scored in an English top flight game, seven, set on 14 December 1935.
His book of 443 pages, which he says “has taken three years to write”, goes into depth about every Arsenal game he has been to. From his first match in 2013, when the Gunners lost the Emirates Cup, to last season, when the men from North London slipped up 0 to 1 against West Ham before going on to lose the title race to Liverpool.
Liam Harding is a regular contributor on JustArsenal. Here are a few links to some of his more recent published articles based around the history of the Gunners:

He documents how he fixed a remembrance plaque at Arsenal’s old ground, Highbury, for his great grandad, 29 years after his death.
On top of that, he records how he got involved with the re-designing of Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium banners from 2022 to 2023.
The proud Gooner states, “I’m a passionate writer in general and have contributed to Just Arsenal for the past couple of seasons alongside having featured in the Arsenal programme.
“But I have always wanted to create a book and include my Arsenal experiences in them which I’m sure the community would love to read about.
“Admittedly Arsenal is in my DNA, however the book and my journaling is more than that.”
Liam’s book can be bought from Amazon Marketplace for £7.52.
What do you think, Gooners, will you be picking up a copy?
