Former Italy international Giuseppe Rossi feels Mateo Retegui and Moise Kean are ‘similar’ strikers but would love to see them play together for La Nazionale and admits he’d see himself at Roma under Claudio Ranieri.
Rossi announced his farewell match on Wednesday. It will be played on March 22 by several Serie A legends and will also be attended by Pepito’s ex-coach at Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson.
Scorer of seven goals in 30 Italy appearances, Rossi spoke about the emerging Azzurri pair Retegui and Kean, the leading Serie A goalscorers.

“They are two similar players, I’d say. It’s great to see them scoring, and this can only help the national team,” Rossi told Sky Sport via TMW.
“They’re scoring important goals, and we hope they can also bring those goals to the national team. The one who adapts better to the team’s playing style will do better. It would be nice to see them play together, even though they can lead the attack alone.”
Rossi retired in 2023 and was asked which Serie A club he’d see himself play for if he was still in activity.
“Let’s take Fiorentina out of the equation,” he replied.
“I had Daniele De Rossi at SPAL in my last season, and I would have loved to play for him. It’s true that he’s no longer at Roma, but if he were, I’d say Roma. I also had some great months with Ranieri at Parma, so I’d say those two names.”
