Tonight’s Derby della Madonnina between AC Milan and Inter is scheduled for 20:45 and according to the latest reports, Paulo Fonseca is preparing a significant change to the starting XI. The Nerazzurri, meanwhile, will continue with their recipe for success.
Fonseca is under pressure to lead Milan to a victory tonight and as claimed by Tuttosport earlier this morning, it has to be a convincing win as well. Of course, this is no easy task against a side like Inter, especially not since they have won the last six derbies.
According to today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Fonseca is expected to switch to a 4-4-2 formation with Tammy Abraham and Alvaro Morata starting up front. Matteo Gabbia will also take the place of Strahinja Pavlovic, who started the last two games.
Davide Calabria is injured, meaning Emerson Royal will play from start, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be on the bench as a result of the formation change. As for Inter, there isn’t really much to say as Simone Inzaghi will continue to rely on the usual team.
Predicted Milan XI (4-4-2): Maignan; Emerson, Gabbia, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Pulisic, Fofana, Reijnders, Leao; Morata, Abraham.
Predicted Inter XI (3-5-2): Sommer; Pavard, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Lautaro, Thuram.
