Gian Piero Gasperini has emerged as a strong candidate for Roma’s managerial vacancy ahead of next season.

With Claudio Ranieri set to leave his post as head coach of the team at the end of this campaign, Roma have yet to decide on his successor.

According to Il Messaggero, Gasperini is nearing an exit from Atalanta after 9 years in Bergamo and is now deemed Roma’s top priority.

Gasperini has a profile that would fit well with Roma: a coach capable of rebuilding from the ground up with clear ideas and targeted investments for a long-term project.

Ranieri’s intention is to leave the bench to an already established coach who can handle the pressure of a club like the Giallorossi.
