AC Milan managed to fight back from behind once again, drawing 2-2 against Fiorentina last night, but it didn’t exactly help them in their European pursuit. This was highlighted by today’s Italian newspapers.

Within the first ten minutes, Fiorentina were up 2-0 underneath the San Siro floodlights, following an own-goal from Malick Thiaw and a goal from Moise Kean. Thanks to Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic, Milan at least managed to claim a point but it doesn’t matter much.

The Rossoneri remain in ninth place and Fiorentina, who are in 8th, are unlikely to squander their four-point gap between now and the end of the season. As such, today’s newspapers in Italy highlighted just how useless the comeback was for Milan.

The front pages

Gazzetta dello Sport

🤐 “Milan, the most useless comeback. Ninth place, European football is very far away.”

🗣 “Conceicao: ‘Will I stay? It makes me laugh’.”

Corriere dello Sport

❌ “Milan out. 2-2 draw against Fiorentina and goodbye to the Champions League goal.”

Tuttosport

🔁 “Milan and the thrill of comebacks. A film already seen after another shocking start.

😕 “Abraham and Jovic make up for it but European football is even further away.”
