Turkish giants Galatasaray have reached an agreement over personal terms with Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan ahead of a summer move, according to L’Equipe.

The Turkish giants are yet to initiate talks with the Cityzens, who are open to letting the former German international leave.

The 34-year-old returned to the Etihad Stadium last summer on a free transfer after just spending one season with Barcelona.

He bagged three goals and seven assists in 51 appearances in a disappointing 24/25 campaign for the Sky Blues.

Doubts have emerged over Gundogan’s place following the signing of Tijjani Reijnders, who is expected to be an automatic starter alongside Rodri, who has recovered from a long-term ACL injury.

With the likes of Nico Gonzalez and Mateo Kovacic up in the pecking order, Gundogan might see his game time curbed.

Despite extending his deal until next year, City are considering selling the former Borussia Dortmund star for free this summer.

Gundogan, whose parents are Turkish, is believed to be intrigued by the prospect of joining Gala, who will compete in the Champions League next season.

As he approaches the twilight of his career, a move to Gala makes more sense for Gundogan.

He would link up with his former German teammate Leroy Sane if the deal goes through. Sane recently sealed his move to Gala on a free transfer from Bayern Munich.

The Turkish giants are eyeing more high-profile signings as they look to defend the Super Lig title and go far in the Champions League next season.

They have lined up Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu as another top target. The Italian giants demand €40 million for his signing.

Galatasaray are working to extend the stay of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen following his outstanding loan stint last season.
