Fulham have stepped up their efforts to sign Scott McTominay, as they are reportedly prepared to meet Manchester United’s demands.

The London outfit have been monitoring McTominay’s situation at United since the start of the summer transfer window, having already made two previous bids to secure his services.

United are willing to part ways with their academy product, but only on their terms. The Red Devils have turned down both of Fulham’s offers—believed to be in the region of £20 million — as they hope to raise around £30m from his sale.

On Sunday, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming that after initial reluctance to negotiate any further, Fulham have re-entered talks to convince United to sell McTominay.

Now, Manchester World are claiming that the Cottagers are “willing to match” United’s £30m asking price for the 27-year-old star.

The report adds that a deal for McTominay could be “thrashed out in the coming days”. While there is optimism concerning discussions between the two clubs, a separate report has suggested Fulham are yet to fully convince the player to join Marco Silva’s project.

The goal-scoring midfielder is not viewed as an integral part of Erik ten Hag’s project, which is desperately in need of a new defensive midfielder.

Last Friday, the United gaffer opted to bench McTominay, starting Kobbie Mainoo alongside Casemiro in a double pivot behind Mason Mount.

As such, McTominay’s move to Fulham could benefit all parties involved. United are themselves in the market for a new midfielder and another significant sale this summer would relax their financial fair play concerns.

The aforementioned source adds that United are pushing hard to bring Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain and there is hope a deal for him can be secured during the final days of the window.

Further, the report states that Christian Eriksen and Hannibal Mejbri could also head out the exit door.

Ajax are interested in signing their former playmaker. Meanwhile, Mejbri, who has been linked with Rangers, is expected to move to Spain or France.
