Manchester City are set to sanction a second successive loan exit for highly-rated central defender Juma Bah this summer, according to reports.
A move for the young centre-back would follow a short-term loan stay at RC Lens following his official contract signing with Manchester City during the last January transfer window, having been picked up from Spanish side Real Valladolid.
After impressing during the second-half of the last season with a club that had only just sold star defender Abdukodir Khusanov to Manchester City, talk quickly developed around how the Sierra Leonean could be handled by Etihad bosses.
As the summer approached, there was even tenuous discussion around the possibility of Bah joining Pep Guardiola’s side in the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup, only for the City coach and his staff to select a restricted first-team roster for the tournament.
Now, following a visit to talk through his future with those at the Etihad Stadium club’s training base this week, it appears as though the next steps for the Freetown-born star have been agreed upon.
According to the information of transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City’s highly-rated Sierra Leone international defender will leave the club once again on loan this summer for the 2025/26 campaign.
It is further detailed that La Liga side and fellow City Football Group club Girona are among the options currently being assessed, alongside other possibilities for the 19-year-old defender.
City currently have a long list of central defenders at their disposal for the new season, and there has been talk around possible exits from the ranks, particularly after the signing of Rayan Ait-Nouri allowed for a permanent switch for Josko Gvardiol back into his natural role.
There remains a possibility that John Stones could leave the club on a permanent deal this summer owing to concerns around his fitness record, while Vitor Reis could be considered for a temporary exit to ensure the Brazilian talent gets sufficient game time this season.
One guaranteed exit from the first-team defensive ranks this summer is Kyle Walker, who was rejected by AC Milan concerning a buy-option worth around €5 million following the end of a loan spell, and is believed to be attracting interest from Everton and Fenerbahce.
