Our Red Bulls are only making a brief stop in Salzburg after returning on Thursday - as this Saturday, 26 July, they have the second competitive match of the season ahead of them in the first round of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup. The match kicks off at 18:00 CEST in the DietachArena. Our opponents are Union PROCON Dietach – the champions of the LT1 OÖ Liga who are newly promoted to the Central Regional League.
When we go away for a cup opener, there is always a festival atmosphere - and this year will certainly be no exception, with our away sector already sold out in Upper Austria. The fact our boys take all their opponents seriously is provided by a glimpse at their recent cup openers. They took 6-0 wins in both of the past two seasons and have not conceded since a 4-1 win over Hertha Wels in 2021.
We want to continue this trend, of course, especially with a big Champions League qualifying second leg to come against SK Brann (with tickets on open sale!) - as we seek to keep the momentum we gained in Bergen.
You can follow the game on a free live stream on ÖFB TV.
We are going to play on an unusual surface on Saturday. We aren't used to playing on an artificial pitch, which is set to make for a different game than usual. We are facing a team that gained promotion in superb style last year and were solid at the back, in particular, and conceded very few goals. They are definitely on a high still after going up. We will take Dietach very seriously, as we want to take our momentum from the Champions League match against Brann Bergen and make it through to the next round with a focused and good performance.
Thomas Letsch
We want to live up to our favourites' role and make the next round. Everyone knows that it can get very tough in the cup. Taking an early lead would be great. If we can't manage that, we need to have patience and the mindset to put as much pressure on Dietach as possible. Winning in the Champions League definitely did us a lot of good, and we can take confidence from that.

Not available for the match are Takumu Kawamura (knee), Karim Konate (knee), Valentin Sulzbacher (thigh), Moussa Yeo (knee) and Christian Zawieschitzky (calf).
The winners of the clash will discover their opponents in the second round of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup on Sunday 27 July 2025.
