SC Freiburg have completed the signing of 23-year-old Japanese winger Yuito Suzuki from Danish club Brøndby IF, the Bundesliga side announced on Tuesday.
The length of Suzuki’s contract has not been disclosed by the Breisgau club.
“Yuito has that special blend of goal threat and playmaking ability,” said board member Jochen Saier.
“With his pace, versatility, and strong technique, he’ll add real value to our attack. We’ve been following him for a long time and are delighted the move has now come together.
"Like many players coming from other leagues, he may need a short adjustment period to get used to the Bundesliga’s intensity and unique demands - but we’re confident it won’t take long.”
Suzuki, who made his senior debut for the Japan national team in 2023, expressed enthusiasm about the move.
“SC Freiburg have a strong tradition and an excellent reputation,” he said.
“During my discussions with the club, the people in charge outlined a clear vision that matches my own goals and ambitions. That clarity played a key role in my decision.
"The team has achieved a lot in recent years, and I’ll give everything I have to contribute to that ongoing success. I’m proud to wear the Freiburg shirt and excited for this new challenge in the Bundesliga.”
During his time at Brøndby, Suzuki has made 69 appearances, scoring 23 goals and registering 15 assists.
