Frederic Massara discusses his return to Roma: “Being back here is a source of great pride.” | OneFootball

Roma released their first official interview with newly appointed sporting director Frederic Massara.

The executive discussed his return to the club as well as his objectives for the summer.

“Returning to this Club is a source of great pride for me. In Roma I have experienced significant moments in my career, tying myself to the city and the tradition of the club. But, beyond the feeling that I have preserved in these years, now I can’t wait to embrace the new sporting challenge that awaits us all.”

“The Friedkins? They are a very determined family, very passionate, in wanting to give joy to the Roma fans, in wanting to win trophies, they are truly very determined, we will have to work hard not to disappoint these ambitions.”

On reuniting with Ranieri whom he briefly worked with in 2019, “It is a great pleasure to meet him again, even if in a new role. It will be an important role for me too, it represents a bridge towards a more immediate return to the Roman reality, it is a great pleasure to work with him again.”

“This season we all have to be demanding with ourselves. Mister Gasperini will truly embody this spirit in the best way, the results he has had in these years are extraordinary, we are convinced that he will be able to give a very clear identity to our team and bring that spirit that we are all looking for.”

“This is a good team, and it has shown it in the second part of the season with many results that have led to a great comeback. There are already many strong players, we are convinced that we can build an even stronger team.”
