Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.

Best of the Bees

Yoane Wissa (£6.9m) was unlucky not to register a goal in Gameweek 36, but responded with a goal, assist and two bonus points against Fulham last time out. Wissa’s goal was his 19th of the season. This resulted in a 10-point haul for Wissa’s 2.57 million FPL owners.

Another to net his 19th goal of the season was Bryan Mbeumo (£8.3m). Played through by Wissa, he struck a right-footed effort past the goalkeeper, although he’ll be disappointed that a penalty miss stopped him delivering his own haul.

Meanwhile, right-back Michael Kayode’s (£4.5m) long throws keep causing havoc, like in the 4-3 win over Manchester United. One of them led to Wissa tapping in Christian Nørgaard’s (£4.8m) header on the line. The latter almost equalised with another in the second half.

The Spotlight

The 10th minute of Gameweek 37 saw Mikkel Damsgaard (£4.9m). set up his third big chance in four matches. Had the subsequent Wissa shot not been saved, it would’ve been the playmaker’s 11th FPL assist of the campaign.

Two of these came in Gameweek 7’s reverse meeting with Wolves, which was a 5-3 thriller. Seeing as the final afternoon of Premier League action traditionally brings an above-average number of goals, Damsgaard can be confident of a productive trip to Molineux.

A starter in 33 of the last 35 outings, this is the 24-year-old’s first season of significant Brentford game time, though the low 829 minutes of 2023/24 were still long enough for him to set up four goals.

Now, he joins Mbeumo inside the league’s top eight players for chances created (62).

Best of the Rest

Elsewhere, defenders Ezri Konsa (£4.4m) and Marc Cucurella (£5.4m) were both able to combine a Friday night goal with a clean sheet and maximum bonuses.

Aston Villa are on three successive shutouts, while the Chelsea left-back has been given more license to get forward. It’s his third 15-pointer from seven home matches.

Iliman Ndiaye (£5.2m) bagged a brace during Goodison Park’s farewell to the Premier League, while James Justin (£4.1m) kept a clean sheet and set up Jamie Vardy’s (£5.4m) 200th and final Leicester goal.

In Demand

Having all 10 closing matches take place together already causes annual mayhem in the FPL community, but uncertainty over the availability of Alexander Isak (£9.5m) and William Saliba (£6.5m) will have many waiting until as late as possible to use their transfers.

The Gameweek 38 deadline is at 2.30pm BST on Sunday 25 May.

Should Newcastle’s star striker be ruled out, expect Ollie Watkins’ (£9.1m) popularity to continue. A cheaper frontman is Evanilson (£5.8m) and his Bournemouth midfield colleagues could also be highly backed at home to Leicester.

Captaincy

Handing out the armband is a game of stick or twist at this stage. If you’re protecting a good rank or mini-league lead, a fit Isak must be strongly considered, just like Bukayo Saka (£10.3m) should he start versus Southampton.

There’s Mohamed Salah (£13.6m) too, at home to Crystal Palace in a rehearsal for August's Community Shield.

But calculated punts could turn out to be glorious. Jarrod Bowen (£7.8m) is in fantastic form. The West Ham man visits Ipswich on the back of four goals and two assists in five appearances.
