Takehiro Tomiyasu

Arsenal announced that month that the club had reached a mutual agreement with Takehiro Tomiyasu to end his contract with immediate effect.

The Japan international impressed after his arrival from Bologna in 2021 but has been plagued by fitness problems in recent seasons. Tomiyasu featured for just six minutes in the Premier League last season and has started just 16 league games over the last three campaigns.

The defender is expected to be out until October but could prove an attractive option for sides in search of depth on a budget. Though his injury record is a huge concern, Tomiyasu’s age (26) and ability to operate right across the backline appeals.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Dominic Calvert-Lewin called time on his Everton career last month, after nine seasons at Goodison Park. The forward is another who has suffered with injury problems, failing to rediscover the form that saw him break into the England squad between 2020 and 2021.

He scored just three league goals last season, though remains a brilliant aerial option for sides focused on a more direct approach. At 28, he will feel there’s plenty left in the tank.

Victor Lindelof

Victor Lindelof is available on a free transfer after eight seasons at Manchester United. The Sweden international has departed the Red Devils after 284 appearances in all competitions.

The 31-year-old’s future remains clear despite transfer talks, as sides consider swooping to sign the experienced defender.

Josh Brownhill

Burnley have lost a pivotal part of their promotion-winning side after Josh Brownhill opted against signing a new contract at Turf Moor.

The 29-year-old scored 18 goals and added six assists from midfield last season, with only Leeds United striker Joel Piroe outscoring Brownhill in the Championship.

Leicester City are understood to have offered the midfielder a contract, as the Foxes rebuild after relegation from the Premier League last season.
