Former Kaizer Chiefs skipper Patrick Mabedi has called on his old club to pursue Mamelodi Sundowns defender Khuliso Mudau, whose contract situation makes him a potential target for rival PSL sides.

Mudau, widely considered one of Africa's top right-backs, boasts an impressive résumé, including appearances in the CAF Champions League final and the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals. With his Sundowns deal yet to be renewed, Mabedi believes Amakhosi should act swiftly to secure his services.

Having previously coached Mudau during his tenure at Black Leopards, Mabedi praised the defender’s versatility and quality. "He is a very good player. If Chiefs sign him, they could have found a missing link in not only their defence but the whole team," he told Soccer Laduma. "When I coached him at Black Leopards, we used him as a right-back, right winger, or even a central midfielder. That’s how good he is. This could be the biggest move for Chiefs in recent times. Personally, I would encourage them to go for him."

Mabedi emphasized Mudau’s ability to contribute to build-up play, highlighting his comfort on the ball as a key asset. The Malawi legend believes the Bafana Bafana star could be the solution to Chiefs’ defensive and tactical needs.
