Former Brazil star continues harsh assault on Vinicius Junior, takes aim at Real Madrid teammate Endrick | OneFootball

Over the weekend, former Sevilla and Brazil player Pintinho referred to Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior as a “clown” and “provocateur”, in relation to the 23-year-old’s ongoing battles against racist abuse. Despite having been condemned in Spain, Brazil and beyond, Pintinho has now doubled down on this remarks.

Speaking to Radio MARCA, Pintinho addressed his previous comments.

“A few days ago I said that Vinicius is a bit of a clown. Here, people support me. The kids don’t, but people who know about football know that I’m telling the truth. I don’t like some of his attitudes.”

Pintinho also took issue with Vinicius’ previous remarks about Spain being a racist country. The 69-year-old firmly believes the opposite.

“I have nothing against Vinicius. I want him to grow more, but I didn’t like that he said that Spain is a racist country. I’ve been here for 45 years and Spain is not a racist country. If he is not happy in Spain, let him go. Let him go to England or somewhere else.”

Vinicius wasn’t the only Real Madrid player in Pintinho’s crosshairs. He also spoke harshly on Endrick Felipe, who will be heading to the Santiago Bernabeu later this summer, and particularly on the media comparisons between the 17-year-old and Brazilian legend Pele.

“He is a player who has not yet done anything in football. The press is what it is, you raise the players a lot. The other day I saw that he was compared to Pele… He has virtues, but comparing with Pele is very strong.”
