Former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna believes that Ruben Amorim would be willing to bring Paul Pogba back to the club.
After 233 appearances over two spells, the Frenchman left Old Trafford under a grey cloud and most fans wouldn’t welcome him back as a result.
Since leaving United, Pogba has endured a torrid time with injury and a doping ban. It’s proof that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side as his career fell off a cliff.
The 31-year-old was initially given a four-year ban but that was substantially reduced and he will be able to train from January and play competitive football again in March.
Former Arsenal and France star Sagna has linked Pogba with a return to United.
Sagna is quoted by the Daily Star saying: “It’s a different situation today at Manchester United to when Paul was previously there. United have a young coach, a coach that has been a player, a coach that understands the situation.”

He added that Amorim would welcome the idea of having the 2018 World Cup winner in his squad, even though Juventus didn’t want him.
“He will probably be willing to have a player like Paul at his training sessions. Amorim was a player himself, so I’m sure the coach will be open to seeing him getting back home because he loves United.”
Although he had a weird way to show it, Sagna believes Pogba still has ‘affection’ for the club where he spent nine seasons in total.
“I have talked many times with Paul. He loves United. The only problem was the situation when he came back.
“That was a spell where things didn’t go as well as they should have done, but Paul wasn’t the only player that struggled at United during the time he was there.”
It’s safe to say we won’t have a third homecoming of Pogba.
Not that one is wanted by United fans, although I can see why some in France think it’s a good option – until it happens. Then it would be a disaster.
Why should United take another risk on Pogba anyway?
