Real Madrid president Florentino Perez used the platform of the Real Madrid Assembly to convey his deep admiration for key figures within the club, highlighting their importance to its rich history and future aspirations.
Starting with Vinicius Jr., who finished second in the Ballon d’Or ranking, Perez expressed pride in the Brazilian star, recognising him as not only one of the best players at Real Madrid but also arguably the finest in the world.
“We are proud of a player like Vinicius. For us, and for most football fans, the best player in the world,” the president began saying.
He commended Vinicius for his resilience in overcoming challenges and unfair criticism, which have shaped him into the exceptional player he is today. The president emphasised the admiration and support Vinicius enjoys from Real Madrid fans globally.
“Dear Vini, I want you to know that Madrid fans are proud of you, of everything you have had to endure at many times, unfairly. All this has made you the player you are,” said the Real Madrid president.

Turning attention to the squad’s challenges, Perez acknowledged the contributions of injured players like Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, and David Alaba.
“It has been a historic year and we are facing one of the most important winning cycles in our history. The players in this squad are Real Madrid fans, they are passionate about this badge and they know what this shirt means.”
He described them as key figures who embody the spirit and passion of Real Madrid. Encouraging them to recover swiftly, he assured fans that these players will soon return to action and continue contributing to the team’s success.
“I encourage Carvajal and Militao, they are two of the great references of this team and we will soon see them back on the pitch. All our love, too, to Alaba, who is already in the final phase of his recovery,” he noted.

On the subject of Kylian Mbappe, Perez celebrated the French forward’s arrival as a monumental moment for the club. “Mbappe’s arrival has been one of the highlights of the football world.”
He highlighted Mbappe’s exceptional efforts and his immediate impact, including helping secure the European Super Cup, marking the start of what promises to be a fruitful journey at Real Madrid.
“As I said that day, he has been making an effort that many cannot even imagine. And he has already helped us win our first title: the European Super Cup.”
Perez also paid tribute to long-serving players such as Nacho Fernandez and Toni Kroos. He recognised Nacho’s 23-year journey at the club, showcasing Real Madrid’s core values and setting an example for aspiring young players.
“I also want to remember Nacho, an example of the values of Real Madrid and a role model for the children of the youth team.

“He has been in this house for 23 years. We want to tell him that Real Madrid has been, and always will be, his home. Dear Nacho, all the best in this new stage of your life,” said the president.
Similarly, Kroos was honoured as one of the greatest legends in Real Madrid’s history, with his contributions and unforgettable moments etched in the hearts of fans.
“It will be very difficult to see someone like Kroos again, one of the best in our history and one of the greatest legends of world football. His tribute on May 25 was moving, and unforgettable.
“Dear Toni, thank you for everything you have given us. You know that this will always be your home.”
Perez also acknowledged Joselu’s efforts in key matches, such as the Decimoquinta final.

In response to criticisms about a lack of academy graduates in the first team, Perez firmly addressed the issue.
He listed six key players—Carvajal, Lucas Vázquez, Fran García, Valverde, Rodrygo, and Vinicius—who have risen through the club’s youth system, affirming Real Madrid’s commitment to nurturing homegrown talent.
“The current squad has six players who have come through the youth academy of this club, namely, Carvajal, Lucas Vazquez, Fran Garcia, Valverde, Rodrygo and Vinicius,” he added.
Through these reflections, Perez underscored the club’s winning culture, the dedication of its players, and their connection to the values and traditions.
