As every summer brings its wave of out-of-contract professionals, the UNFP (French Players’ Union) is once again offering a lifeline for players looking for clubs. The now well-established preparation centre has opened its doors a six-and-a-half-week programme aimed at helping players stay in shape, remain visible, and, ultimately, earn a new contract. The UNFP have announced the squad of 30 players to play in seven friendlies this summer.
In the 35th edition of the programme, led by former Rodez manager Laurent Peyrelade and assistant Michaël Ciani, includes a number of familiar names: former Metz and Algeria goalkeeper Alexandre Oukidja, ex-Nantes winger Marcus Coco, midfielder Vincent Koziello, defender Florentin Pogba, and striker Jordan Tell, who most recently played for Laval.
Seven friendlies are scheduled to showcase the group’s talents, with matches lined up against Le Mans FC, Stade Lavallois, AS Nancy Lorraine, and Paris FC, among others.GFFN | George Boxall
