Inter Milan have now made three signings this summer.

The first to arrive was midfielder Petar Sucic. Then, following not long after was wingback Luis Henrique.

Inter got those two pieces of business over the line very early, from Dinamo Zagreb and Marseille respectively.

Then, the Nerazzurri just wrapped up their first big signing after the Club World Cup.

France Under-21 international Ange-Yoan Bonny has joined the attacking ranks at Inter.

Midfielder Petar Sucic is 21 years of age, as is striker Ange-Yoan Bonny. Meanwhile, Luis Henrique isn’t much older at 23.

That is certainly a departure from the age profile that Inter have tended to go after in recent years.

Most of the Nerazzurri’s most notable signings have been players with experience. In some cases, even veterans well into their thirties.

That had been the preference of previous Inter coaches Simone Inzaghi and Antonio Conte.

However, former Inter youth team coach Cristian Chivu looks at things a little differently.

As do, crucially, Inter owners Oaktree Capital.

The North American fund had always signalled that they were going to shift the focus of their Inter project to investing in young players with room to grow, rather than the older players Suning had gone after.

And after three signings this summer, it is fair to say that the Inter owners are doing just that.
