According to De Telegraaf, Feyenoord have reported to Spartak Moscow for 23-year-old Costa Rican striker Manfred Ugalde.
Ugalde has a contract in Moscow until the summer of 2028, but Feyenoord have already made a first offer for the easy-scoring striker and the Costa Rican international is believed to be open to a return to the Netherlands.
The forward was acquired by Spartak from FC Twente a year and a half ago for 13 million euros, making him the Enschede club’s second-highest outgoing transfer ever.
While Ugalde admittedly had a rough start in the Russian capital, last season showed some good form of old. He scored a total of 19 times for Spartak and also registered six assists. In his stint at FC Twente, the striker played 84 matches, in which he scored 22 goals and gave 13 assists.
Ugalde was active with Costa Rica at the Gold Cup in recent weeks. There, he scored three times before his country was eliminated in the semi-finals by the United States last night.
