Scott Parker will be able to add to his squad again in the coming weeks

The January transfer window presents Scott Parker with the perfect opportunity to add to his Burnley squad as they seek to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

It's so far so good as far as that quest is concerned, with the Clarets firmly among the pacesetters as we enter a busy festive period, but there's still plenty of work to do if they're to occupy a top-two spot come May.

It's not all been plain sailing for Burnley this season, as a lack of goals has held them back for most of the season so far, but as they seem to have found a solution to that in recent weeks, it's imperative they don't become complacent.

Still, without what could be described as a prolific number nine, that's one area of improvement for Parker's side in the window, but financial constraints mean that sales will perhaps need to take place to allow for incomings.

Here, we look at four potential Turf Moor movers in January.

Out - Mike Tresor

With the aforementioned financial constraints relegation brings with it, sales are likely to have to take place if Burnley are to invest in January.

One man who could serve to be a makeweight is Mike Tresor, whose move to Burnley has been nothing short of a disaster.

Since moving to Turf Moor for a whopping £16m after his loan deal was made permanent in the summer, Tresor has flattered to deceive, and the Clarets are get back anything near what they paid for the Belgian.

Still, they should be able to raise some funds from him as he's on a long-term deal and has great pedigree in Europe.

In - Morgan Whittaker

Someone who Burnleychased at the end of the summer window, renewing interest in Morgan Whittaker would be a shrewd move for the Clarets.

Burnley twice had loan to buy offers rejected for Whittaker, so Plymouth would likely want cash up front for their prized asset, which is where Tresor could help.

It's unlikely Argyle will want to sell Whittaker in January, but amid a mini-crisis at the South East club, with Wayne Rooney's job under pressure, Burnley could look to take advantage.

He'd definitely help soothe their scoring woes, and Parker could certainly do with another forward, particularly someone who can play on the wing.

Out - Hannes Delcroix

While Hannes Delcroix certainly won't raise much of a transfer fee, freeing up his wages would certainly go a long way in January.

Delcroix hasn't featured for Burnley yet this season, owing to injury, and as of yet, he isn't even close to a return, which could put off any potential suitors.

With Maxime Esteve and Bashir Humphreys covering the left-sided centre back slot, there's no real need for Delcroix at Turf Moor anymore, and the club should look to move him on in January if possible.

In - Evan Ferguson

Signing Evan Ferguson is perhaps nothing more than a pipe dream for Burnley, but nonetheless, it's a link that seriously excites.

It's clear for all to see that Burnley are desperate for an out-and-out number nine and Ferguson could well be the missing piece of the puzzle.

The beauty of a potential deal for Ferguson would be that it would only be a loan deal, so Burnley wouldn't have to stump up the kind of cash they would to sign the likes of Whittaker.
