La Liga outfit Real Betis have on Friday announced a permanent addition to the club’s ranks in the middle of the park.
The player set to be part of Manuel Pellegrini’s squad for the 2024/25 campaign? Marc Roca.
Midfielder Roca, for his part, spent this past season on loan at the Estadio Benito Villamarín, from Leeds United.
And the Spaniard went on to establish himself as a key performer in the Verdiblancos’ midfield, racking up 34 appearances across all competitions, including 24 La Liga starts.
In turn, it had come as little surprise to hear of the brass at the Benito Villamarín, over recent weeks, kicking into gear efforts to keep hold of Roca beyond the summer.
And, as alluded to above, on Friday, such endeavours have borne fruit.
As per a statement across Real Betis’ website and social media platforms:
‘Real Betis Balompié and Leeds United have reached an agreement for the transfer of Marc Roca. The new Green and White player has signed a deal until 2029.’
Roca’s signing, it is understood, has set his new club back a sum in the region of €4.5 million.
