Chelsea continued their impressive unbeaten run with a comfortable 3-1 win over FC Twente in the second game of the UEFA Women's Champions League group stages.

Head coach Sonia Bompastor has taken to her new role like a duck to water, eradicating any concern about her ability to create success in the absence of Emma Hayes, and her side were worthy winners against an FC Twente side who are the dominant force in the Netherlands.

Still riding high after their London derby win over Arsenal in the WSL, the Blues proved once again why they are worthy contenders for the champions of Europe crown, coasting to victory thanks to goals from Aggie Beever-Jones, Maika Hamano and Guro Reiten.

Chelsea's extra bit of class was evident from the first whistle, though their opening goal came in slightly fortuitous circumstances as Aggie Beever-Jones' shot was deflected past Twente goalkeeper Olivia Clark after just seven minutes.

The Blues dominated the ball for much of the first half, with summer signing and France international Sandy Baltimore particularly impressive on the left wing, and their superiority was rewarded with a second goal just over ten minutes later.

Maika Hamano was the scorer, rifling a terrific dipping effort from long-range past the sprawling Clark.

Twente put Chelsea under pressure at times but lacked any real cutting edge in the final third, so it was no surprise when the visitors extended their lead further in the second half.

Substitute Mayra Ramirez was hauled down in the penalty area by Lieske Carleer, with Guro Reiten slotting home the subsequent penalty to put Chelsea 3-0 up.

Nikee van Dijk grabbed a consolation goal for Twente minutes later but despite the home side upping the ante in the final stages, Bompastor's side eased over the line to follow up on the 3-2 win over Real Madrid on matchday one.
