When building your Fantasy Bundesliga squad, budget picks can be crucial in freeing up funds for premium stars.
In this article, we spotlight one budget-friendly option from each club to help you shape your squad for the new season.
Daniel Peretz, GK – 1.1M:
After getting almost no playing time at Bayern, his loan to Hamburg was expected to give him the chance to become the new number one. It is a close battle between him and Heuer Fernandes, who started in the DFB-Pokal, but at only 0.1M more than a 1M goalkeeper and with clear ambitions to start, he is worth picking up.
Said El Mala, MID – 3.8M:
The 18-year-old talent has already become a fan favourite in Köln, winning the Man of the Match vote after a strong DFB-Pokal performance after coming on in the 75th minute. He may not start just yet, but he’s definitely one to watch once he gets his chance.
Diant Ramaj, GK – 5M:
Causing some discussions in the Ostalb, Ramaj arrived in Heidenheim as the new number one, replacing long-time keeper Kevin Müller. This is already his second loan move from Dortmund, after winning the league last year with Copenhagen. Since Müller recorded the second-most saves in the Bundesliga last season, Ramaj offers strong point potential, with even higher points per save this year.
Max Moerstedt, FOR – 3.1M:
With plenty of competition up front at Hoffenheim, the battle for minutes will be tight. Still, the young striker made his case in the DFB-Pokal by scoring twice. At just 3.1M, he’s a solid option, whether as a bench striker or even pushing for a starting spot if he can maintain his form.
Louis Oppie, DEF – 4.3M:
A tough DFB-Pokal match highlighted that St. Pauli may struggle again in attack, but their defence remains solid. Oppie, who was crucial for Bielefeld last season with 8 assists and 3 goals, could be a decent pick for the back line.
Leopold Querfeld, DEF – 6.4M:
The DFB-Pokal once again showed that Union will likely rely on corners and free kicks for goals. Last season the young defender contributed 2 goals and 2 assists, and he added another goal in the Pokal from a set piece. However, with Union not expected to perform strongly this season, there may be better options.
Mert Kömür, MID – 4.6M:
The young talent impressed in pre-season and showed his potential in the DFB-Pokal. With his ability to deliver dangerous passes behind opposing defences, he could make a difference for Sandro Wagner's Augsburg.
Dzenan Pejcinovic, FOR – 3M:
After scoring a hat-trick in the DFB-Pokal, the striker looks set to start in Wolfsburg’s Bundesliga opener against Heidenheim. At just 3M, he is a very appealing option.
Kevin Diks, DEF – 6.3M:
Arriving from Copenhagen, Diks is a defender with scoring potential, having scored 5 goals and provided 3 assists in the Danish league. He even took a penalty for Gladbach in pre-season, so with Kleindienst still injured, his upside is significant. Although he was substituted in the Pokal match, he’s expected to return to training and should be fit for the Bundesliga.
Luca Jaquez, DEF – 2.3M:
As one of the standout winners of pre-season, Jaquez secured his spot in the starting lineup ahead of Finn Jeltsch. With regular minutes expected at Stuttgart, he offers strong value for such a low price tag.
Mio Backhaus, GK – 4.4M:
With Zetterer moving to Frankfurt to replace Trapp, Mio Backhaus steps in as Werder’s new number one, making him the cheapest starting goalkeeper in the game. After a challenging pre-season and a tough DFB-Pokal defeat to Bielefeld, he’s likely to see plenty of action in between the posts.
El Chadille Bitshiabu, DEF – 5.3M:
At the moment, Lukeba appears to hold the last spot in Leipzig's defence, but Bitshiabu has a strong chance to earn minutes. With his ability to win duels, he could rack up solid points at a low price.
Armindo Sieb, FOR – 5.2M:
With Weiper potentially leaving the club, Sieb is likely to play up front alongside Hollerbach and Nebel. Mainz aims to replicate last season’s success, and with Burkardt gone, Sieb and Hollerbach could take on the goal-scoring and point-producing responsibilities that the German international delivered last year.
Johan Manzambi, MID – 5.4M:
Breaking through at the end of last season for Freiburg, Manzambi was a bargain at just 1M. After a strong pre-season, he earned a spot in the first team for the DFB-Pokal and was heavily involved in Freiburg’s attack. If he maintains this form, he could be a valuable asset.
Filippo Mané, DEF – 1M:
Dortmund’s defence has been hit hard, with Niklas Süle gone and both Schlotterbeck and Can injured. Mané, who previously played in the 3rd German league for Dortmund II, has been trusted to start in the first team. With Yan Couto now also injured, his place looks secure, making him a 1M defender who will start.
Can Uzun, MID – 6.5M:
Starting in the DFB-Pokal, Uzun made an immediate impact in the number 10 role, including an assist for Frankfurt’s second goal. With Götze slightly injured, Uzun is likely to see regular minutes and could be a valuable asset for a Frankfurt side that looks strong again this season.
Ibrahim Maza, MID – 5.8M:
With injuries in Bayer’s midfield, Maza secured his place thanks to a strong pre-season and a solid DFB-Pokal performance. While he didn’t register a goal or assist, he was very active and caused problems for the opposition. At 5.8M, he’s an aggressive starter who could contribute both goals and assists.
Lennart Karl, MID – 5.6M:
After a standout pre-season, Karl made a strong impression in Bayern’s squad full of stars. He’s eager for more playing time on big stages and has shown he can make a case for it. Still, earning a regular spot will be very challenging with competition from Olise and Diaz.
