Manchester City remain content with one of their existing goalkeeping talents rising through the club’s academy at present, amid recent links to another new name.

Conversation has been circulating in recent weeks over the future of Manchester City in relation to their academy talents, as the Premier League champions remain on the search for the next crop of exciting profiles from across the globe.

That search is retained by their parent company too, as the City Football Group remain steadfast in equipping their vast portfolio of clubs from all over the world with the next best names to be developing in the game.

While Manchester City are the ultimate destination for any players snatched by the City Group, there remains very promising top-level career options elsewhere in the collection of club investments, with Girona now a leading side in European football.

However, the latest information to circulate concerning the future of bright prospects within the City Football Group relates directly to Manchester City, and one of their rising names developing in the goalkeeping position.

As per recent reporting from the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano, Premier League champions Manchester City remain happy with their young goalkeeping talent Oliver Whatmuff for the future, with the teenager only recently signing a new deal at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite claims of interest in the player over the last few weeks, Romano explains that there are currently no talks taking place for Everton’s highly-rated England youth international shot-stopper Douglas Lukjanciks, also amid talks of a swap deal.

Reports in recent weeks had sensationally claimed that Manchester City officials were ready to move for 16-year-old Lukjanciks this summer, and were reportedly ready to pay up to £10 million for the shot-stopper.

Simultaneously, Manchester City will be looking to recruit at first-team level too, and the wide understanding is that Pep Guardiola’s midfield roles could be placed under the microscope amid ongoing uncertainty over a number of players.

Bernardo Silva is expected to intensify his own personal hunt for a Manchester City exit, whilst there remains some nerves over the long-term future of Kevin De Bruyne, with the Belgian’s Etihad Stadium contract expiring at the end of next season.
