Liverpool’s summer overhaul continues to gather pace following Arne Slot’s successful debut Premier League campaign. While the Dutchman’s first season ended with silverware, the post-Klopp era has sparked sweeping changes both on and off the pitch. Several high-profile names have already headed for the exit, and according to trusted transfer source Fabrizio Romano, more departures are imminent.
Romano, speaking on Threads, has confirmed that Italy international Federico Chiesa is now expected to leave Liverpool. After just one season at Anfield, the 27-year-old appears to be heading towards an early exit, with strong interest from Serie A clubs.
Chiesa arrived on Merseyside with great anticipation, but his debut season never truly ignited. Fitness struggles and the continued brilliance of Mohamed Salah meant opportunities in the starting eleven were limited for the former Juventus star.

Despite his undeniable talent, Chiesa’s impact has been minimal. Still, that hasn’t deterred suitors across Europe. Napoli and AC Milan are closely monitoring his situation, while La Liga side Real Betis have also shown interest. However, the player’s preference appears clear.
Romano’s latest update underlines the growing likelihood of a return to Italy, aligning with earlier reports that Chiesa is eager to move back to familiar territory. “The Italian’s future lies away from Anfield,” Romano wrote, indicating that Liverpool are open to parting ways with the winger.
Chiesa’s expected exit follows a string of high-profile departures already confirmed by Liverpool this summer. Trent Alexander-Arnold’s headline-making switch to Real Madrid has dominated the news cycle, while promising goalkeeper Vítězslav Jaroš is closing in on a move to Ajax.
In the coaching department, John Heitinga has already left for Amsterdam, taking several backroom staff with him. Slot’s influence is clear as he shapes the club in his image, both on the touchline and in the dressing room.
Andy Robertson could also be on the move. The Scotland captain has emerged as a top target for Atletico Madrid, with talks ongoing. Should the Spaniards firm up their interest, Robertson’s time at Anfield could be coming to an end.

Another name circulating in transfer discussions is Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan forward has attracted widespread attention, particularly from Napoli and Atletico Madrid. Saudi Arabian clubs have also tabled bids, though it remains to be seen if Nunez will be tempted by a move away.
While nothing is finalised, the tone of the summer is clear. Liverpool are in a period of transformation, and Slot, fresh off a title win, is evidently unafraid to make bold decisions to prepare the squad for the season ahead.
As the window unfolds, all eyes will remain on Anfield — and particularly on Chiesa — to see which clubs make their move and whether the Italian gets his longed-for Serie A return.
