Fabregas has already given his availability to Roma.
The new course branded by Dan Friedkin sees him as a key figure in the technical reconstruction of the squad.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder has shown full openness to the Giallorossi proposal, so much so that he has already studied the squad and maintained contacts with Ranieri. But the main obstacle remains Como.
As La Repubblica writes, the Lombard club, with which Fabregas began his career on the bench, does not intend to release him easily.
Despite the attempts at mediation put in place by Ghisolfi, the response received from the Como top brass was firm: “Fabregas is not moving”.
Fabregas, for his part, does not intend to force his hand. The bond with Como is deep, and he does not want to compromise the image built in recent months.
If he were to stay, he wants to do so without any ruptures, avoiding any gesture that could be interpreted as a summer escape.
It is this respect for the club that welcomed him in his first role as coach that is holding back a more decisive action. There will be no ultimatum or public pressure: his will is clear, but Como will have to make the next move.
