Manchester City have drawn Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-finals, with Championship side Preston North End hosting Aston Villa.
Pep Guardiola’s men came from behind to beat giant killers Plymouth Argyle 3-1 to book their spot in the final eight, whilst the Cherries had to overcome extra time and a penalty shootout against ten men Wolves.
Preston, who are the only non-Premier League team left in the competition, beat fellow Championship side Burnley 3-0 to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup for the first time since 1966. They will host Aston Villa, with Unai Emery’s side brushing aside Cardiff City 2-0 after Marco Asensio scored twice.
Crystal Palace will travel to west London to face Fulham, who knocked out holders Manchester United on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Palace beat fellow London side Millwall 3-1, who played most of the match with ten men after goalkeeper Liam Roberts was sent off in the eighth minute for a studs up challenge on Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Brighton beat Newcastle 2-1 in extra time after substitute Danny Welbeck’s late strike, after both sides had had a player sent off in regular time. The Seagulls will face either Nottingham Forest or Ipswich Town who play on Monday.
