Sunderland have been advised to think twice about a potential move for Liverpool youngster Jayden Danns
Liverpool talent Jayden Danns suffered a nightmare move to Sunderland earlier this year.
The 19-year-old arrived at the Stadium of Light in January, but failed to make a single appearance for the Black Cats due to a back injury.
However, Danns may have another opportunity to prove his worth in Wearside.
According to The Northern Echo, Sunderland are keen to take the Liverpool talent back to the club on another loan following their promotion to the Premier League.
Speaking exclusively to Football League World, Sky Sports pundit and former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie believes there are question marks surrounding Danns’ ability to mix it in the top-flight.
“Obviously, Jayden Danns is highly thought of at Liverpool,” stated Hendrie. “And has huge potential.
“But he's only ever played nine games of professional football. Having said that, he's scored three goals.
“The glimpses that I have got of him, especially in the 2024 EFL Cup final, he looked sharp and lively.
“But is that enough to take up one of your loan spaces in the Premier League when they're going to be restricted? I'm not so sure.
“But he is certainly a player with loads of potential, who you would expect to kick on and see more of next season, whether it's at Sunderland or somewhere else.”
There are few doubts surrounding Danns’ potential, due to how high Liverpool rate the forward.
That said, a player with such little experience in first-team football could pose as a slight risk when preparing a squad to tackle Premier League football.
Liverpool clearly saw the Championship as the perfect place for the teenager to get some experience under his belt in January, but injury prevented anything meaningful coming from that move.
Therefore, it seems a long shot that Danns would now be a solid option for a top-flight club.

Sunderland need to prioritise proven Premier League experience if they want to remain in the division for more than one year, and that would unfortunately rule out a move for the Liverpool starlet.
That said, Regis Le Bris is clearly keen on Danns, after outlining him as a transfer target twice.
If the Mackems do decide to roll the dice and take a gamble on the 19-year-old, it could turn out to be a season-defining transfer.
The attacker could live up to his potential and become one of Sunderland’s most important operators, giving them an advantage over the other sides fighting for survival.
However, there is also every chance that Danns would understandably need time to adapt to regular Premier League football and prove to be a waste of time and resources for the Black Cats.
